Pacific Dredge and Construction, LLC. mobilized 6 sectional barge pontoon sections onto Lake Combie to create a 60’x40’ working platform to hold an excavator with a 6” hydraulic cutterhead suction dredge. The dredge material was pumped through a booster pump approximately 1 mile to a water treatment processing system built and managed by Great Lakes Environmental and Infrastructure (GLEI). Pacific Dredge pumped a continuous slurry of material with an approximately 15% to 30% solid concentration to the processing plant for the removal of mercury that was used by miners on the Bear River area to extract gold from ore years ago.
