Pacific Dredge & Construction completed the Napa River Maintenance Dredging project, awarded by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The project aimed to make the river deeper for boats to transit fully, using the clamshell method and upland disposal. PDC used the rig "Horton," scows Thing 1 and Thing 2, and the tugboat Cadet, while a subcontractor offloaded sediments with an E-Crane barge and earth-moving equipment. The County of Napa offered a disposal site, and the dredged material was transported by scows. The project was divided into three Reaches to minimize disturbance to the community and neighbors of the City of Napa.
